The Dealt Rake Method

There are a number of things you want to look at when considering a rakeback program for your online texas holdem play. One is the amount of rakeback offered. Some rakeback programs may offer less than 20 percent of your rake returned each month. Others may offer more than 30 percent.

Another factor you will want to look at is which online poker sites you can sign up with to receive rakeback.

Remember that rakeback is a promotion designed to increase traffic to online poker sites. You probably won’t find the most popular sites here, but you’ll want to look for ones that seem reputable and fun to play on. Finally, you’ll want to know the method for calculating rakeback.

Methods for Calculating Rakeback: The Dealt Rake Method
If you are the kind of player who employs a tight aggressive style, waiting for premium hands and playing them aggressively, you will probably be a fan of the dealt rake method. If you are dealt into a hand, you earn an equal amount of rake credit as everyone else dealt into the hand.

If there are ten players and the rake is $2, you contributed 20 cents of rake. It does not matter how deep into the hand you got. It doesn’t matter who wins the pot. If you got cards, you paid rake.

Objection to the Dealt Rake Method
Some players object to the dealt rake method because they feel that someone who folded before the flop should not get as much rake credit. However, in the long term, the rake penalizes everybody. Everyone should expect to win a few pots eventually.

Benefit to the Dealt Rake Method
The benefit of the dealt rake method is that it does not penalize solid players. Those who know their best chance is to wait for a good opportunity and try to win a big pot for a minimal investment, will do so, rather than attack every single pot and hope for the best.
